Hi Kid,

I really enjoy your posts. I heard a story and maybe you heard it and know if it is really true (or maybe you could check it out).

It is about an aquarium (San Diago, I think). They were haveing a problem with crabs disappearing from their tank overnight. They though that maybe employees were stealing them so they set up a security camera.

What they discovered, so the story goes, was that, at night, the octopus in the next tank lifted the cover off its tank, opened the cover to the crabs tank and went in to have dinner. What is really amazing is, after dinner, the octopus left the crabs’ tank, PUT THE COVER BACK ON, went back to its tank and REPLACED THAT COVER TOO. The sneaky octopus was covering its tracks!!!

If true, sounds like the octopus is as intellegent as you suggest.
